Nice Tree, Nice Location

really sweet location broh, nice job.

looking at the vid I just have to add one thing, please give those trees a mulch layer to feed on in the future. It looks so clean under there these trees just will "grow" more dead wood in the future.

It would also be a real improvement for the visual effect aswell on the vitality off these trees.

climb safe

thanks guys,

wouter, the tree has great vitality despite the obvious compaction issues, however the problem of footfall compaction is being looked at - it may be that people will only be allowed on the grass for special occasions. I liked the Oak mulched area outside the townhall in Holland you guys did and thought about it when I first looked at this tree.

Man, I was standing at that tree a bit over a year ago. Walk through the vaulted room into the courtyard was amazing. I had a friend at university there, when we went all I could think about was spreading wood chips under that tree.
Cool job, thanks for sharing.

Beech is gotta be one of the coolest trees to climb. Like touching God. Noblest tree on the planet.IMO

If I may add, I think under planting with other native understorey herbaceaous and woody plants. Create a micro forest in that location would take it to whole new level.

Many times the specimen tree is happy and healthier with its companions to share and shelter the root zone. Like the way we all share and contribute on TreeBuzz with one another!

Beautiful tree and location and I do agree with Beech trees being noble. On another note, did they film any scenes from Harry Potter there? It looked like something from the movies.

I really like the views from the downturned limbs back towards the trunk, super nice tree. Great job. I need to work in a Beech soon, very noble.

cheers for the comments people

Nice one!

Is this tree in the quad at Glasgow Uni? Must have been inspiring! I took some classes in those buildings!

I think the makers of the Potter movies were inspired by the buildings for Hogwarts, and wanted to use the setting, but they ended up using Oxford I think instead.
