New to me felling method

I think it would have to be angled downward backcut-to-facecut, but would be fun to try it if you had a bunch of small trees that needed to go away.

EDIT: the more I think about it, I don't think angling it is a good idea either direction.

The bottom of the tab should be cut at a downward angle. Facecut side high back cut side low. If it's flat the front corner of the tab will hit the bottom as it hinges over which would cause the stem to lift and break the hindge wood.
 
The front corner of the tab does not hit. The clearance created by the kerf is enough to let it rotate freely. I placed the tab and last foot of butt back on stump to play with it and it did not make contact when swung up and down.
