image.webp I ordered new helmets and muffs and installed new Sena intercom headsets into them! I'm very excited to try them out and hopefully save a bunch of time with them.
So to the guys who are already running them, what settings have you found to work best? Do you use the button to initiate the intercom or do you use the voice activation? If voice what sensitivity do find works well? Hoping some of you guys can tell me what works and what doesn't to save me from having to go through the trial and error process. Thanks!

Those look different than the ones we run but I can tell you one thing, if the batteries are removable make sure you zip-tie or rubber band them to the helmet. I knocked my battery off multiple times and a coworker actually lost his.

nothing to do with the intercoms, but those helmets look right for some hydro-dipping. perfect canvas for the company logo to be printed onto it. I already am planning to do so with my new helmet

I have three sets. We use the button on the back to initiate conversation. We have the helmets on everyday all day long. They have been HUGE in the safety and confidence in tree work. I never really imagined how much safer you feel when you can communicate exactly what your trying to do to your ground guy, crane operator, or anyone.
I had to remove several large trees next to a house and power line. I had room to fell them but their was slight back lean. I hooked them us to our mini with a pull line and then was able to communicate with the operator of the mini while we felled the trees over. This gave me the availability to have him pull a little and then stop, and then start pulling again, I never looked at him once. I was watching the tree and my cutting. Worked Great!! You will love them.

Wow, first time I've seen that! Looks awesome, I'll def have to look into it.

Yeah Royce I know I'm going to love em. I set them up to use the button to turn on the intercom. Was thinking it would be nice to be voice activated but figured the chipper and saws would be constantly turning them on when they wouldn't be. Maybe ill try it and see how it works.

I used these on a crane job today. These are the best purchase I've made in a long time! Not only are they invaluable on the blind picks we were making but they even make simple tasks even easier. No more yelling for someone to run and grab something. Everyone worked much more efficiently. Best of all was our professionalism increased dramatically.
