New Rope?

Ok guys, I'm needin to get a new rope right quick and am trying to decide between: Blaze(cheapest), Poison Ivy, or Velocity. It's gonna be a 150footer and used sometimes for SRT as well. oh, and if anyones got the skinny on any sales goin on, Thanks.

PI is the best out of the last, i personally would at least consider the Tachyon or Fly. Tachyon and PI are probably the best two ropes to be used for both Ddrt and SRT.

My personal choice is Tachyon, but considering your three picks I would say Poison Ivy. Blaze is great but the constant milking will drive you nuts for the first couple weeks. PI is the easiest to splice, IMO.

i hated the velocity for the first three months that i climbed on it. but once it got broken in... its ok. I would prefer to have a larger diameter rope, the velocity is very skinny.

Thanks for the responses. I have a hank of Tachyon. I like it, but...well..it feels kinda hard in my hands and I find it difficult to grip barehanded. But I love it with sticky gloves. I'll prolly go PI, but something tells me i might like blaze..

I'd go with the P.I. or the Blaze. I felt that the diameter and milking tendencies of the Velocity were some pretty negative factors. I feel that the Velocity is extremely detached from the core, knots tie and cinch down weird and handles funny when your friction hitch cinches down. Just my opinion, waiting for some flak from BostonBull haha

Ah what the hell I'll throw my hat into the ring

I own both pi and velocity. My pi line is very durable and has a great feel to it. I love my velocity lone although it's stretch/milk can suck a bit.

I'd go pi line. I own the tachiyon line as well but it just doesn't hold up well. I flew that thing on a pulley 90% of the time and it is now due for retirement. I've had my pi line twice as long and it's still in climbable shape.
