new National Boom Truck

"The elliot has no counterweight other than the weight of the truck. UNBELIEVABLE."

]Its hard to tell from your post whether you are raving about the ablity of the 50t. Elliot to operate without a boom mounted counterweight, or expressing disdain. I would care not, as long as a unit performs to the same standards as others as to stability and structural strength, who cares how they do it?
Anyone seen the new Tadano 35 ton machine? It features power windows...in the operators cab!A very cool looking rig. http://www.tadanoamerica.com/public/prod34.aspx

One feature of the Tadano thats pretty cool is the automatic limiting of capacity with less then full outrigger extension, including all different combinations:front all out, rear one out, one in, you name it. A very trick crane, maybe too trick, but impressive non the less, good looking too I think.

Some of the new tadanos are coming through with hydroform style booms as well!! Awesome leap in technology and features.

Still crappy charts on tadano and Elliot, IMO. Grove, Liebherr, Demag have it all over these, but its reflected in the price.

Resale value drops quickly with these lesser priced cranes. For a while there Grove AT's were worth more a year old then when purchased new, during that big need for cranes being exported to India, Dubai, Russia, China, etc
