New Lowering Device

Funny I distinctly remember you calling Johnson's test stupid.

And I'm pretty sure you just called me stupid.

You reap what you sow Family.

Wow, Family, all that battling w/ EZ in that 26 page thread has really honed your posting skills. Honestly. You might be eligible for the Harvard debate team with these clear and well reasoned posts. Keep up the good work.

I thought I heard Ken Johnson was disabled from a tree related incident. If so, then he Was one of the West's best TD guys.

Jomoco come on. Family never said that Mr. Johnson was stupid. He called the test stupid, but I think all of us can read into it and understand what he meant. He was saying that to base your buying a Hobbs over a GRCS on this "car drop" test is stupid. I have a Hobbs and love it. I have used a GRCS and think they are great also. To say that I know which one is better is a lie, simply because I probaly dont use my Hobbs for everything they are intended for, plus I have never rigged a limb the size of a car with either. That being said my Hobbs is great, and so is the Grcs. Lets be real though, Family probably meant no offense with any of his statements, so lets leave it at that. Finally I am sure Family would take a Hobbs if given to him, or even at a fair price, and use the absolute SHAT out of it!!!

LeDube stop trying to compare Fords and chevys to a Hobbs or a GRCS, they are nothing alike. You cant lift and lower limbs with a truck. Or can you???

Just messing around Bro. Welcome to the Buzz. This website is full of awesome info, and a fair amount of "constructive" critism. So strap on your armor and have a good time!!!

Welcome to the buzz ledube!!!!

Derrick. Yes in deed it is but it isn't ours, it the company that we team up with for crane jobs. It's an amazing piece of machinery and makes quick work of wood piles. I'm amazed everytime I see it on how much it can lift.

I have to say that we've had the GRCS for a year now and I love being able to pull it out and lift some major pieces. I must admit that we use it to pull trees/tops over against the lean more often that we use it for tip tying pieces. If we're going to be bombing down really big butt pieces then I'll just throw on the trust old Porty with a good sling...
