new gear on the way

i ordered a buckingham viking saddle and a white ecrin roc.
i know i know, i did say i was about to order a tree motion but unfortunately i need a better helmet then what im using and it was either a tree motion and a falling appart helmet or an allright saddle and a new helmet. at this point anything is gonna be more comfy to me then the butt strap sliding D i have been using for this whole year. there will allways be time for a tree motion in the future :)

i wear a cougar at work and have a edge at home for side work. both saddles are great to climb in,and both saddles were less than $350. you don't have to spend top dollar for good tools, just do good research before you purchase.

Sorry, Josh - I was commenting on bradirt's picture. He needs a helmet!

I wore an Ecrin for years and liked it. I just got a new Kask, it is pretty good. Congrats on your new gear!

OK so let me get this straight:

Sherrill is calling it a Puma...

Wesspur is calling it a Viking...

Buckingham is calling it the BuckCat...

Let's get on the same page here bros. :)

still looks like a good saddle. i was going to buy a couger but after all the recalls earlier i decided that it best to go with buckingham.
luke, i moved back home to hawaii man so i cant order from you guys anymore because shipping is too costly :( *sob sob*

Dude, there is no doubt. The Warp Speed bridge is tried and true. It is my standard replacement recommendation whether it is going on a Cougar, Glide or whatever.

Also we ship USPS pretty often now. So just hit me up if you ever need something and we'll knock the cost way down beyond the quoted amount.

How is that bridge spliced?

Listed as a class II double braid, but maybe one of the splicers can explain more.

The key is that the cordage (Warp Speed by Samson) has been proven for this application with very few issues that I am aware of (the Glide has been around kind of a long time now). Dyneema core with a polyester cover.

The warp speed bridge is spliced you would most eye to eyes by using locking brummels and then locking stitching the cover to the core. The stuff has a killer strength rating even at the 7/16" diameter. It has been tested over and over again and has stood the test of time. I put some on my cougar conversion and love the stuff. It's just bomb proof and way over kill on the strength as stated.

I got two years of biners-on- warp speed-bridge (no mickey mouse pulley) wear before wearing through the underside of the cover. The core and the lock stitching still were good.

again this is another reason why i went with the viking vs the cougar. also if you look real close, the couger looks more bulky and thicker then the viking. seems like the viking is everything the cougar should have been right off the bat.

this may have already been mentioned, but the ecrin roc ear muff attachments are an after market product that costs $90.

I just bought a vertex vent with ear muffs instead of buying the attachment for my ecrin.

But maybe you use ear plugs anyway?

no im engaged :) shes moving here in 2 months. its a long story. i was there for a month or so and not having my drivers liscense is what sent me home packing. id much rather discuss the details over the phone. interwebs are a dangerous place to talk about personal stuff. 1-808-572-3048
