New CDL Requirements

I understand there are new requirements for CDL Drivers starting the end of July 2025. Does anyone know if drivers that were grandfathered in and did not need a medical card if only driving intrastate for tree work are going to need a current fed med card now?

The onerous changes were made in February 2022. Are you telling me even more changes have been made?
I was trying to get my CDL before the class was mandated. I took the written test, but had trouble making arrangements to get a combination vehicle in time so was not able to do the road test. At that time, I did not need a med card...not sure when that change was made, but from what I can tell, Ohio now requires med card for all CDL drivers.

I can't say about what is required, but as part of the class, they had me get my med card. Super easy to get and maintain.

The only thing that might throw a wrench in mine is that I have been diagnosed with severe sleep apnea since then. My doc purposely chose an apnea machine that automatically uploads the history due to me having a class A CDL, this way I don't have to bring in any documentation on it when I have my next physical.
