Anyone try the Sterling atlas (5/8 specifically)? Looks super stretchy on paper
I just got the 9/16 sterling atlas. I really like the soft feel and how it knots. It tends to kink up a bit if you coil it, so I would recommend a rope bag for it. It is super strong. Took down two trees with it so far and really like it.

We’ve got some of the 1/2” Dynasorb and it is impressively strong. I know a bunch of folks who are really fond of Atlas.

I will put my 2 cents in for Sirius although it's pretty low stretch. It runs really well and doesn't hockle much.
Can't say the same for husky (knockoff dynasorb) or actual dynasorb. While they've been take. Some abuse, they hockle like crazy on a regular porty. The bigger Stein bollard eliminates some of that issue though.
Might have to try a hank of atlas next. It's impressively strong in paper and super elastic.

Can't fathom having 325' of 5/8 line. No coiling that one!

The Polydyne is here. Split the spool in half so I have two 300 ft hanks!.. This 5/8" is a beautiful rope and incredible hand. Cant wait to see how it responds when we start dropping wood into it.. I also got myself a new 400 ft hank of 9/16" Stable Braid from Gap. I hope you youngster's understand how incredibly spoiled we are with all the options for rigging and climbing lines.. A rope for just about every situation and need.

Both hanks are gonna start getting abused next week. Have a Fir on a very steep hill with a hard lean over a well head, pump house, and massive amounts of water company infrastructure.. Gonna block the top half of the tree to itself then swing logs to a Red thats about 30 ft away using a holdback in my tree. I don't pull out both Hobb's very often so it should be a fun day? After that I have a 180-185 ft hard leaning Fir over my bedroom that I NEED to kill before winter. I have lost a lot of sleep on windy winter nights wondering when this mutherfucker was gonna kill the wife and I. NO MORE. Same kind of program as the other one.

I sure hope yu don't regret abandoning 3/4 stablebraid bro!

Fuggin fir's heavy!

Jemco
Still love my 3/4" Stable Braid. Probably gonna use it to swing logs to the Red. Also grabbed a hank of Samson 3/4" Nystron for those times I need 3/4" with a bit of stretch in it.

Sounds like a fun day, haven’t done work like that in a few years. I’m guessing you’re preserving saw logs and aiming for 13-17’ ft for your mill, if going to the market 22.5’

I’d swing by to help break in my new 395 if I wasn’t in urgent care with my daughter at the moment

I hope your little girl is doing ok Brother.

No millable logs on this job. 3"-4" waterlines everywhere, valves, hydrants, pump house, service drop, ect, so very little room to deal with anything more that 8-9" Ft logs. If I sent them a 12-16 ft log my groundie would raise some serious hell.

New 395XP?

Si, it’s been a wild ride this past few weeks. Got burgled by some redneck inbred island tweaker gossip junkies. They stole my 440 and a few other items.
My babe will be fine. She decided not to shit for a 4.5 days, let it out after some intervention last night. Now has a UTI caused by the impaction.
Managed to get a little work done, and a few more grey nipple hairs..
Tell that groundie he better up his game, send me some saw logs
