NE Fly for drt?

Anybody use it for DRT? Looking to get my wife set up for climbing, want to give her options (SRT,DRT) and that rope is quite inexpensive. Also supple.

I do, I absolutely love that rope, ddrt or srt. What's not to like, it knots well, it works well with ocean, beeline, closed system or a wrench, has a nice hand is supple and its cheap

The only thing that I didn't like about Fly was the bulky splice. Now, you can probably get a sleek sewn splice.

I like Fly. I use it quite often (DragonFly, but it's the same thing). I'm not sure how long a stitched eye would be, due to the kernmantle construction, but it would be nice to go with that. The 'slaice' is pretty cool, but it'll cost you a ton to get that here. Just go with a stitch. Enjoy, Amanda!

She'll certainly love the color. I agree, fly is the bomb. I got a short hank from Wesppur like 70'. I use it in small trees or in big trees on small assignments. Great rope. Just use an anchor knot to tie it to your bridge and just be in love with it.

How does fly work with ascenders like the ascentree?

Its an 11m kernmantle rope, as such it works flawlessly with mechanical ascenders and cammed devices of almost all types. Any of the Petzl products will for sure work well with it.

I love my FLY, and its cheap? Awesome!

Got the fly for my first rope, mostly because it was cheaper than most other lines and it got good reviews. I like it so far, works great with ocean polyester, and smooth otherwise. No complaints, except maybe the monstro-splice....but oh well.
