October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and early detection is key. The American Cancer Society recommends all women over 40 to get an annual mammogram. I would encourage everyone to discuss this with their wife, sister, mother, etc. to ensure yearly screening.
From the CDC "Aside from non-melanoma skin cancer, breast cancer is the most common form of cancer in women. Breast cancer is the number one cause of cancer death in Hispanic women. It is the second most common cause of cancer death in white, black, Asian/Pacific Islander, and American Indian/Alaska Native women."
