My new fence!

My father in law and I,well ok mostly him, built my fence the past two weekends. It took us 4 10 hour days to complete. The wood is all rough sawn. the real dark red wood is Larch (Larix decidua), and the lighter pinkish wood is Hemlock (Tsuga canadensis). The pickets are 4' and the posts a bit higher. All posts are 36" minimum in the ground. Corners and gate posts are 6x6's.

some I personally removed. My co. produced all the logs.....it didnt take many logs believe it or not!

There are some citrus based oils, that are used in timberframe homes you can use. They deepen the color and really make the grain pop......not so good for weather preventing. They also need to be applied a few times a year. I am looking for one that is good for utdoor use, and wont seal make the wood glossy like polyurethane.......
