Hi All, sorry I have been absent for quite a while now. It has been a rough summer. My favourite rec climbing companion was my daughter any time she was home for a visit. She was back last Fall for three weeks and we had some great climbs together. Last one was special because she was headed back the next morning to Portland. We spent that whole afternoon at height, had lunch up there and a great visit about her Mom who we lost in 2009. I put her on the Amtrak the next morning and it was the last time I saw her. She died suddenly 19th May after running up and down three flights of stairs to her apartment, twice, with about a hundred pounds of camping equipment while some friends waited for her with the car running. She had just turned 41 a couple weeks before. Rest in Peace, Wendy.

Thank you for sharing that, I can’t imagine how hard that must be for you. I will be sure to pray for you and your family, that you all will get through this.

I can't imagine what you're going through, my thoughts are with you. It looks like you made the most of your time together and she clearly knew that you loved her. Thanks for sharing, I was wondering if something had happened to you.

Yeah, it rather sucks if you outlive your only child. And we were bloody close since her Mom passed. It's been good therapy to get up a tree as often as I can since it happened, but there will probably always be a touch of sadness to it for me from now on. Right, well it is good to be back. I have missed all of my mates here on the Buzz.

Can't imagine the pain.
Sorrow is a long term process, and can take even longer to get over the closer you were to a person. But the blessing is you had a great relationship with her for many yrs prior to her passing, which often helps.
Sorry for your loss.
