Mugo Pine

Hey everyone,
a client has this mugo pine. Was wondering if anyone could help me find a definitive answer to what it is. So far, we're thinking Late Needle cast (Cyclaneusma minus), Brown-spot needle blight (Mycosphaerella dearnessii)or maybe Diplodia tip blight (Sphaeropsis sapinea). Any help is appreciated. I think I can get more photos if needed. Thanks!

The fact that you are able to name three potential pathogens leads me to believe you have already done some googling or have access to Sinclair's "Diseases of Trees and Shrubs". Sinclair has some pictures that should help narrow it down for you, but positive id should probably be performed in a lab.

That being said....it is curious that there is a seemingly perfectly healthy plant right next to this one that is severely infected. I would be checking out the roots. Asking myself, why did this one plant succumb while another right beside it has not.

The fungal attack is likely secondary to the actual problem.
