Movember

The month of Movember is finally upon us. What is Movember? Movember is the month formally known as November, where men grow out their moustaches to bring awareness to men's health issues. I shaved my face clean on Movember 1st, and will be growing out my stache for the whole month of Movember.

I thought it was amazing the amount of Pink that I saw through out the month of October to support the fight against breast cancer. NFL players were wearing pink shoes and wrist bands. I took a flight on Delta Airlines and the pilots were wearing pink ties. And in my hometown of Buffalo they decorated downtown with pink Christmas like decorations. I can only hope to see that amount of support shown for the month of Movember to support the fight of prostate and testicular cancer.

I have attached a picture of my clean shaven upper lip. I will be posting pictures through out the month at this web album.

I honestly thought that this was a joke and for good reason. Who would think of growing a mustache to promote colon health? Want a free exam? Follow the mustached fella back there behind the dumpsters.

I now know it's not and will fully support it (with a wildly grown out beard)

I dont get any lovin from my fiance, people look at me funny, and I feel dirty when I grow out the stache (no offense to anyone who regularly wears a stache). So, you are right, it does sound pretty foolish. But me and the guys I work with have fun with it. Plus its for a good cause, so I can handle looking like a fool for a month!

I will post more pics as the stache grows in.

It has been 11 days and so far no updates on the facial hair. Mine is working on getting there. I have a decent beard going. Once it gets long enough towards the end of the month I will shave down to the stache and post the picture.

I started growing my beard and moustache on June 1st. I play Santa for kids at a homeless shelter here in town every year, so it's an annual thing for me. I shave it off on Christmas Eve, after I've made my final Santa appearance, and I'm already counting the days!

If I can ever figure out how to upload a photo in here, I'll post one!

That'll be tricky, most of it's already gone. I'm letting the kids get used to it before I shave the rest. Probably have an old pic somewhere.

I think someone who has a killer beard like years of growth like old blinky here had needs to have a killer before and after or like a time lapse thing while shaving it.
