"That was not good at all." The woman has a gift for understatement. It seems like some people simply have no natural grasp of Center of Gravity.

I'm not really getting that back cut either. It's not obvious but I think that face cut is waaaay deep. I think he was a little too distracted to kill the saw.

The amount of money he would've saved is probably less that his insurance deductible.

I've read somewhere that its possible to "cheat" the center of gravity/mass a bit with a deeper notch, but i haven't tried it (too skaert) Ropes;wedges and MA are my tools of choice.

I always think when I see stuff like this, don't these people understand gravity? I guess they watch professionals, and every tree goes in the direction the notch is and think, "oh, falling trees is easy, just cut a notch out of the side you want it to fall towards..."

And that's why you make more of a production of taking it down. Put a rope in etc., then some will think twice about doing it themselves.

It's obvious he cut through his notch and had no hinge. I hope he sold the firewood to make $ for the repairs.
