More palm tree removals12-2-10

Nice! Great Music...good zipline...and a little fun...all in a days work

Only one incident with one handing the chainsaw. Not bad Not bad

No problem with help. I'm just psyched about my new cart! It came in real handy on the 14 palms we pruned today. Vid looks good too. Nice techniqe 1/2ing the trunks. I'll have to remember that one..

Excellent Jesse, Sublime even! great band.

What helmet cam are you using? it's as clear as day

Thanks Grover. Its the new Drift 170HD
Whats funny is that the files that come off the camera are MOV files recorded in 1080. They played CRYSTAL clear until I converted them to AVIs, editted , and put them on utube.
Im currently looking for affordable sofware that can edit MOVs without a conversion. Roxio or Movie Maker didnt work for me.

Windows Live Movie Maker the replacement for Movie Maker allows you to convert your vids to HD

Think there may even be a newer version - Windows Live Movie Maker 2011 out soon??

Never done a Palm before but they look so boring(tediouse). Nice speedline ( to keep things intrusting). kidding tight spaces I know. worked well

I don't think I could go to work the next day knowing I'm gonna take down 7 palms

Awsome Job!

Hey Jamin, as long as the skins dont bind up the saw they rip about the same as they cross cut. I did this to keep the impact to a minimum. I originaly got the job because I told the customer I would use a crane. The trees turned out to be a bit too far away so when I sold him on rigging them, I promised not to impact the lawn if I could help it. Ripping the last bits in 1/2 ands dropping them on the truck tire worked well enough.

Some day I want to try and split one and then rig the 1st 1/2 down off the second

Fun video, nice work. I'll go out and shake 6" of snow down the back of my neck doing pine and spruce removals.
I've got to ask about the possible hardwear damage by having the pulley and miniporti under the block. Also how was the speedline tensioned, from the top, or why not a running bowline on top?

What about this "Looxcie" camera? http://www.looxcie.com/

Your right sir, I geuss I could have easily slammed a peice into the mini. I think a better option would have been for me to just redirect it down to the ground and let someonelse handle the pretensioning. Im not sure why I did that up in the tree to tell you the truth. I geuss I have worked alone so much that even when I have good help I still do stoopid chit like that.
That camera looks really different. I wonder if anyone on here has tried it yet.

great job. I love the idea of having a zip pulley pre rigged to the drop line, then just clipping it on and zipping it, never seen that one, but I already know a few upcoming jobs that it will work great for. Spot on, spot on.
