One of the most productive PTO stump grinders ever made! This stump grinder is a very heavy duty unit built for commercial stump grinding, not just occasional farm use. (Although you could use it for that) I bought this grinder new for $11,000 including the cost of a New River / Sandvik wheel. I used this on my 75 horsepower tractor for about 7 years and it is a beast! I have upgraded the driveline to a heavy duty driveshaft made for me by Driveline services of Fresno California, and a heavy duty gearbox supplied by the manufacturer. I would consider this unit fairly bulletproof at this point.
Since putting the new Driveline in I have not had any trouble with it except for one of the last times I used this grinder one of the plastic covers got damaged and came off. (They can be ordered for replacement) All in all I have close to $4,000 in Driveline upgrades that make this a very reliable stump grinder.
Another feature you don't usually see with other PTO stump grinders is three axis hydraulic movement, not only swinging side to side, and going up and down, but also telescoping. Allowing you to grind more of the stump before you have to reposition the tractor.
It is a heavy unit, weighing about 1800 lb. You're going to want to put it on a utility tractor, not a compact tractor. I would recommend at least 50 horsepower. It runs off of one set of remote hydraulics on the tractor that go into an included three spool valve to control the three functions.
It runs off a 540 RPM PTO. I have sold my tractor so I do not have anything to demo it on. You're welcome to bring over a tractor to demo it, or you can look up some videos on YouTube for this model.
Just to be upfront about everything the manufacturer has gone out of business. However, none of the parts on this machine are really proprietary. The cutting wheel is a sandvik wheel so teeth are readily available, and as I stated the drive shafts were purchased from someone other than the original manufacturer, and parts are available from them. The gearbox is a standard brush-hog style gearbox. The rest of the machine is just steel and hydraulics. Nothing that can't be fabricated or purchased, so there's nothing that the original manufacturer needs to be involved with to keep this grinder going indefinitely.
