MAXX stump grinder

Has anyone heard of this machine? It is an articulated, 4 wheel hydrostatic drive, powered by a 3 cylinder Duetz engine. Curb weight is +/- 3000 lbs.
Any info is welcome...

Those machines were built in the Twin Cities. The guy who used to grind my stumps had one and he really liked it. He told me that he would rather use the Maxx for most stumps unless they were huge and accessible with his big machine.

Yea, thats Maxx all right. The one pictured has turf tires on it same as the one I am looking at. I did'nt know it could walk up stairs. On the one I am considering buying the guy had the tires filled with lead foam so each tire weights +/- 80 lbs. I think that would make the stumper much more stable. About 600 hours and very well maintained, looks like new - $10,000. I'm thinking of buying it but with all this chatter about Mini-skids I am undecided. I'll wait until I hear if the Terra Grinder attachment works well.
Thanks

10 large is a buy if its that clean, Very rare machines, I just heard a while back that the guy who built them will still build em. Arn't they built on a case sneaker vibratory plow. The sub I used to use had at least 2 of them they were incredible hill and stair climbers they swore buy them. Call Action Stump in MN.

Wesley called today he couldn't get his terra goin probably soleniod issues sent him to Lyle. Dude I'm tellin ya give up on the the terra unless you like to sand stumps out or ask Wesly when he gets his goin . No comparison to a Maxx.
So you goin to the bank now?

Sorry, but why would you buy something to work with that is rare? Maybe if you are a collector, but not to actually use.

What about when you need parts? yeah, you will be able to find engine parts but maybe not other components.

$10,000 seems high to me, for junk.... hee, hee. (Yeah, I'm in a mood tonight). No offense Todd.

And hey why not? All these Ford Excursions driving around, why not drive my shiny Maxx to the post office? Bet I could get a better parking place than you...I can just picture it; Maxx snuffling around like some grumpy hungry prehistoric creature with that cutter wheel spinning, Watch Out!

No, no offense taken. I ALWAYS keep an eye on just what you are talking about.
Each and every component on the maxx from the cutter wheel to hyd. rams everything is off the shelf components. Even the major framework is easily copied. Should someone drop a Abrams tank out of the sky on to my Maxx.
