Nice one! Some good rope work from the ground. My groundie could learn a few things watching that, except he has no computer......or cell....or car. Anyway, keep em' coming, always enjoy seeing whats goin on up there.

Good. I never seen that lanyard "pack up" trick before. What is that red sheath on your lanyard?

That's it keep him hungry! Kidding.

Nice Vid! Noticed you do a half hitch then a bowline. What advantages does this have cuz I normally just tie a bowline if there is a branch or a running bowline when I need to get out some or a clove if there is no branch and need to tie close. The Stihl saw at the end, what size of cc and model. Cuz I don't understand the lingo of the Stihl saws.

The camera is a Drift HD170, and the pic is a still from the video.

The lanyard sheath if just 2" tubular webbing, nice to keep the sap off and other things.

The half hitch before the bowline makes it a little more secure I suppose.

The saw at the end is a 660, 92cc and one of the better saws ever built by anyone imo.

Nice video man! I just picked up a 660 last week for a huge Norway Maple removal I had to do, before the snow storm. I put a 36in bar on it and it cuts like butter! Love the sound of it as well.

+1!

Questions- wouldn't a Humboldt tend to make the log tend to go forward more than less cuz a Hbolt tends to get the spar off and away from the trunk moreso than other cuts?

Those 5' or 6' chunks that you roped down tying them near the top; any thought given to tying in the middle to reduce shock loading (though groundie did a great job) and make them come off their stump easier?

And one more if I may, Gord: the Magic Cut you've shown in previous posts, you don't advocate an open face, you show it with a snipe, I was wondering why no open face to prevent any hesitation of the piece as it commits to the face but then tends to get hung up or falter a little when the kerf closes?

Keep the vids coming Gord!
