PACE - A man trimming tree branches died Tuesday when he fell from an extension ladder in his back yard, authorities said.
William Edward Yeager of Ponitz Parkway was 52. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Yeager was cutting oak limbs with a chainsaw, said Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Sgt. Scott Haines. At about 3:45 p.m., Yeager was cutting a limb when it fell, knocking him from the ladder to a concrete slab 15 feet below.
Emergency medical workers were already on-scene in the Woodbine Springs subdivision when sheriff's deputies arrived, but Yeager couldn't be saved.
Haines said crime scene technicians were investigating the case but believed it was "a tragic accident."
