Makita in use

Is anyone else already using one?

I am very pleased with mine. It's great when pruning. No big saw on the saddle, but still enough for the 'big dead ones'

Long time no see Wolter! can't get the vid to play, can you put it on youtube or similar?

I heard one of their big saws is very good.

Hmm kinda a little toy like. I guess for a certain size a pruning it might be useful about half the weight of a 192t. How much cutting do you get out of a charge?

THAT is the scariest tool I have ever seen, because ANYONE can buy and run the lil' bugger w/one hand. Recently used a cordless skilsaw, wow! Lightweight, sharp, nimble, felt like I had a buzzsaw hand. Lighter powersaws would be great for arbos, but should not be available to Joe Homeowner, IMO.

The thing I'm still not comfy with is that there is no chainbrake or extra stop/start button.
The little 'toy' has got more than enough energy for the regular pruning jobs where you would take the MS200 for the big branches. There are two battery's in the set and a battery charges in under 20 minutes. That means that when you take the charger with you to the job site (I don't) you can charge quicker tan you drain.

Love the quiet machine. I've been talking to the sales rep in Holland to change some issues in a newer model but I think that was too late for the next model.

Chainbrake.
Extra (maybe pair colour coded) battery's to get 36 or 54 volts for more power so you can use a longer bar.

The little gem weighs only half of a MS200 so when you are used to that the extra weight of a bigger machine would not be any issue.

Neat idea. I think tons of people would embrace the idea of a light, quiet chainsaw.

My experience with power drills is that the power fades "sorta quickly" over months of heavy use. I imagine the same would be true here.

$200 is a great price. But for $100 more you can get a 192T.

i always try to leave the chainsaw on the ground, i dont like how loud and stinky and heavy they are, but this would be nice, and it would save alot of handsaw work for me!

Can't find any deterioration yet. Maybe Makita found 'the' way by using a new type of battery.
In a link above you are routed to a reseller but they only sell the naked saw. I bought mine in a case together with two battery's an a charger.
