Making Chain Loops

I use the one from baileys, they sell it as a kit. Just buy a couple extra punches, they snap if you rush and don't line up the rivet correctly.

I always had trouble 'punching out' the rivet so for the past 25 years I've been grinding the head off of the rivet using a Dremel tool, then punching. When 'spinning' the rivet a single drop of oil makes it go very smoothly.

We have an Oregon, works well and punch tips are a lot less expensive than the Stihls .
I had a punch tip blow up on me once, ended up having to get a surgical procedure to get three pieces of "shrapnel "removed from my left hand and forefinger.
Inspect the punches often and replace at the first sign of defect and always wear eye protection.
