AUBURN, Maine—Auburn police say a 59-year-old self-employed logger has been killed by a falling tree.
Police say Bernard John Hackett of Buckfield was cutting trees Tuesday when he was struck by a falling tree and killed instantly.
The accident is being investigated as a work-place fatality and the Occupational Health and Safety Administration has been notified.
