"Made to Order in 48 Hours"

Just noticed this phrase on all the hitch cords and many of the by the foot climb lines on Tree Stuff's website. My guess is such products now come from Sherrill's and not from Tree stuff anymore.

I waited a month for 3 bee line black 8mil eye and eyes from sherrill...was told they were in stock when i ordered them...got the rest of the order and i called a week later...they were out or the rope...a month went by and i had to call to have them shipped...that took about 5 days longer than normal too...

Tree stuff has been "drop shipping" rope from "locations unknown" for a couple months now and I am NOT impressed. No tracking numbers so you have no idea wheen it's coming, shows up whenever it wants, a couple days to a couple weeks later. I'm done ordering rope if thats how it's going to be handled, I'll pay a few extra pennies and go somewhere else

So, you're thinking if you'd never made the call, they would have forgotten all about it, maybe? Pretty sad on the order follow up.

It might be fun sometime, on a cheap order, to just keep track of it and see if they ever bother to fulfill the order on their own. Within some limit, of course. In an event like this, Sherrill should be tossing in some kind of a bonus without a customer having to ask for it. It should be a part of the order tracking system software. Incidents like this will lose them customers that have been spending thousands of dollars per year for many years. It should not go unnoticed by them, and customers should be compensated for their inconvenience. Before they decide to permanently take their business elsewhere, which I think customers will do if something like this happens to them more than once.

Oh i don't think they would've shipped without the call...open account, already paid...first bad experience i've had with them in 20 years.

@craneguy1; Well, I know there are a lot of folks that dislike Sherrill for various reasons, but being able to go twenty years without having a problem with an order is a feather in their cap. It did not take me that long before I had an issue. I can't remember anymore for sure, but I think I had at least a second incident before I started shopping at TreeStuff. I've been getting really good service from TreeStuff of late; maybe the things I want are more common.

It just seems to me that the time Nick spent shutting the business down for a day to do inventory control may have had a positive effect.

Hey, theatertech! If you don't mind my asking, how did you find out about the "drop-shipped" status of your deliveries? Did TreeStuff mention it in the invoice somehow? Thanks for any answer you choose to provide.

Tim

@Acerxharlowii; If you ordered spliced goods, in all probability they were made and shipped by SherrillTree, and not TreeStuff. It does make me wonder if TreeStuff actually stocks any cordage whatsoever anymore, or if even unspliced goods orders are also fulfilled through SherrillTree.

They have eliminated counter sales at TreeStuff, haven't they? Maybe it was just one guy that lost his job at the counter, and not the whole walk-in customer service operation that was eliminated. Any TreeBuzzers local to TreeStuff care to answer that question? Big thanks to anyone who is able to do so.

I did jump on the band wagon a couple years ago and bought some odds and ends from t.s....all good experiences...bandanas and toy cars apparently aren't my priority when i order tree gear. The "free goodies" were un-needed...but comical at the same time...now i really don't bother to check; i order what we need and the guys want.

@craneguy1; I left a note in one of my orders one time asking that if they ever include a freeby, it be a pair of those blue palmed, grippy gloves. I can always use more of those things, and they have real value to me.

Shortly after I placed an order with TreeStuff that included some spliced rope, I noticed this topic and became concerned. But it all turned out well. The other items I ordered came quickly, as usual, and arrived yesterday. Today the spliced rope arrived, and I see that it came from Sherrill. So the "made to order in 48 hours" promise turned out to be conservative, at least this time.

Bunch of co workers and I have all placed a bunch of orders with them since last summer. Just about every piece of cordage has come separately, delayed a day to a couple weeks, in an unmarked box without the normal treestuff packing tape, and with no return shipping address. The tracking number provided by treestuff tracks the box with all the hardgoods in it (carabiners, pulleys, stuff like that), and there is no tracking number for the soft goods. All these things lead me to believe that they are having it shipped and possibly prepared by someone else.

@scott branson; Hey, Scott!! Welcome to the TreeBuzz forum! I think you are going to like it here!

I was just wondering if you meant to add something of your own to the post you quoted above. I know my handheld computer can get glitchy sometimes, and not do what I want it to do. Thanks, and again, welcome!
