This may be a dumb question (I don't have the privilege to work with Oaks much): Does your saw start to run a little dull after a short period of time? I would imagine the hard dead wood would not be nice to a new chain. I don't like working with Ash for that reason.

If the wood is stone dead than it will dull a saw for sure. That tree had a full crown last year so no problems. That home is owned by a developer we often work for. You guys are no fun.

A most excellent job, Tod K. I must say I envy you, as you get to climb and rig like this most, if not all the time. I have not had the privilege to climb and rig like that at work for some time now. Maybe just maybe one day I will climb full time again like I did for the first 15 years. Again, most excellent job.

Nice job Tod!! We just finsihed a job today that took about four hours. Tree was totally dead and every single piece had to be roped out. Took quite awhile, since we have two new guys were teaching the ropes too. Otherwise went really smooth, expect for the high heat and humidty. It was killer out today, high 80's and 90% humidty do not mix very well.

Nice job Tod! Cool rigging, I too must admit that since I bought the crane I haven't done a whole lot of rigging. Usually when I get a call on a dead tree like that the customer will say "I figured I'd give it another year to see if it would come back".
Hey, Ranger KEEP that humidity down there! It has been creeping up here to the North...
