Loopie slings with tenex, splicing?

Location

Was wondering if anyone had a source for splicing instructions for loopie slings using tenex. The specific information I am looking for is how much of a burry do I need to create the loop. I tried the same burry as is called for in the yale splicing instructions for a woopie sling, but it doesn't seem right. any ideas?

Thanks guys and gals. Dan

I've gotten different responses from different sources ranging from, "one foot of bury regardless of rope diameter" to "2 fids." I tend to stick to yales recommendations of 1 fid length. I've toyed with much smaller buries, about a short fid length and that has worked well in my experimentations...so stick with the 1 fid and you'll do fine.

We wanna see pictures!!!!

i have also tried several different bury lenghts, have not found one that does not work, but 1.5 to 2 fid lenghts looks great! and it gives me that warm fuzzy feeling of knowing that you don't have too little buried.

Another thing with loopies is that, you double the WLL by using them correctly... I love using my 1/2" tenex loopie, i get that warm fuzzy feeling with this too! /forum/images/graemlins/9lame.gif
