In WA, Australia, I haven't climbed much in the last 6 months as I didn't find anyone I wanted to work with that had place. A lot of people top trees here. No science or care involved. I want to go to the East of Australia. I don't know where. Is there anyone in an area that has people that care for trees, that love their job and are looking for someone of the same mind?
I have about 2.5 years of experience doing tree climbing and surgery in India. I learned what I know through rock climbing, reforesting a 4 acre plot with the help a few foresters/friends (planting, helping it grow, and maintaining it(4 years counting)), doing one semester of environmental biology in college, learning with a friend who has done tree surgery and care for years (although also not certified in this specific field, certified in others), starting a business dealing with tree care with him and another friend and finally, working everyday. I have climbed the trees, made job estimates, done the accounts, and fixed the machines. I have studied Alex Shigo's "Modern Arboriculture" and the "ISA Certification Study Guide". I would like to become certified. I can only work with one employer for six months(including myself). I'm here on a Working holiday visa. In any case I would appreciate it if you know somewhere or someone I am looking for. Thanks, Island
