Looking for Trango Cinch

We've discussed this before but can someone remind me why the Trango Vergo isn't a suitable substitute for the Cinch (if it isn't)? It has a similar or the same rope diameter range, has a similarly small form factor and functionality is the same.

I replaced my cinch with the vergo, very happy with it. Can’t recall the difference now or if there is any.

A consideration is the Grillion from Petzl. I use it on my Capt. Hook quite often. Pretty much the same as the Cinch.

Down side is you have to pay for a piece of Petzl rope because they don't sell it by itself. Once you cut that off you can put it on any 11-13mm rope. You can get it with up to a 15 meter rope which you could put your Hook on, but I just use Bluemoon on my Hook with it. It is not as easy to attach as the Cinch and you need a screwdriver to open it up, but if you are going to leave it on it is not a big deal.
Just food for thought.

It’s only 8mm though, so I’m looking at using some 5.9mm Power Cord to make a prusik and I’m trying to figure out the slimmest pulley to go with it. I figure that it should make for an ultra light and compact setup.

I soooo wish that one would accept 8mm rope but it’s maxed at 6

You could always contact MLR and ask them to check it out. They have really good customer service.

The last few Cinches I've bought have been from eBay fwiw. Once in a while you can find one on TreeBay.

Some alternate options rope grabbing, with slack tending. Sticht Hitch using only cord, a pair of half hitches below some wraps, and a dogbone tender.

Is that Predator or OpLux or some other camo rope? What size is it and the hitch cords?
