Long eye splice with tight eye seizing

Started using this set-up on my long splices about 3-4 months ago (while I was just a lurker here) and was wondering what you would think. It seems like it would have the advantages of the Blue Bandit system but without worrying if that little rubber band has been out in the sun too long.

The splice is a 5" eye in All Gear's 7/16" Neo Pro with a whiplock. What looks like another whiplock that forms the tight eye is actually a seizing knot tied with a core strand I removed to make the splice.

The first picture wouldn’t open for me, but the others did. Looks like a nice whiplock and seizing to me. I personally don’t like the Blue Bandit system.

Just curious, why go through the extra work? If you want a permanent tight eye in your line, why not just splice it to begin with?

I use a "floating hitch" set-up for some trees and don't like having the throat of my splice bent around the ring on my bridge, having that little bit of long eye before the splice starts allows my hitch to float in closer.
