locktite plus rope

does anyone know about the effects of locktite getting on your rope? put a new bridge on my rig today and got a bit on it.

If I had a guess I would say the mannufacture is going to tell you not to use it. Strictly for liability reasons. They probally haven't tested it, and even if they have how sure are they in the long run. If the rope snaps (even from abuse) and it comes out that it had loctite on it and the manufacture said it would be ok...
Well, if it was my company, I wouldn't risk it.

Well... to New England ropes everlasting credit they include a care guide with their Static Pro all polyester rescue rope that actually explains that the rope is resistant to most solvents and all but strong acids, that blood will not damage it and that cleaning it with low concentration chlorine bearing sanitizing solution is safe.
Another approach to your question Tony...How much loctite did you get onthe rope? did you saturate iot or get some on the surface on one side? Since a single strand of your rope is more than sufficient to bear your weight if you only get a little of some product on your rope you can reasonably conclude that their is no need to panic. Frankly I cannot see Locktite as being a significant threat-if it were the saddle manufacturers that recommnend it's use on their products would be flooding us with warnings.
