Local death - ladder+manlift+chainsaw

This happened just a few miles down the road from our shop on Monday. Story goes, he was trying to remove an 80-90' pine with a 50' man lift, and when that wasn't tall enough, he set up an extension ladder in the lift. Not sure of exact details beyond that. So senseless.

He's probably been working with trees his whole adult life. Why he chose to do what he did is anybody's guess. Too bad.

Even the Dadio wouldn't use a ladder in an aerial lift. Tempted, I'm sure.

What this man did was not smart. He should have known that there is a risk for using ladders in tree work and more for the fact that it was in a man lift while being aloft. Better plan would have been to be saddled up with sipkes and flipeline and he could have avoided his death.

Saddle and spikes does not = safe.

Definitely need more than saddle spikes and flip line. That isn't safe
