Explain to me this shelf cut. Looks super smooth. Is it just an angle under cut and a top cut? Useful in all scenarios and positions or only certain ones??

Semi vertical branches. It allows the branch to sit there with absolutely no drop or movement until the crane op decides it should. Its sometimes a backwards or forwards "L" or can be a "V" with an intersecting undercut on the horizontal plane. That's basically it. Just leaves a flat piece of wood for the cut to rest on.
