Lifting & Lowering Logs Above Home

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FQeY_NKM3Mg

This was a job where the customers were concerned about a couple of limbs overhanging their homes.

Using the GRCS, we lifted & lowered some decent sized logs.

You can see how fast of a transition it is between lifting and lowering.

The footage was captured on a Droid 2. I'm impressed with that phone's H.D. capability.

Species: What else? Cottonwood.

I sort of thought that was how you knew what to post.

Nicely done. Total control and zero guesswork.

Thanks. And that is the rewarding side of rigging stuff. When all goes as planned and it makes our job look easy.

Nice video jamin just wondering why you lowered the logs into the neighbors yard?OR Did they hire you to prune the tree owmers limb off over there house.

I was waiting for a question...

The customer, who called me, was the one concerned about the neighbor's Cottonwood. Both talked it over and the owner of the tree decided he should have some work done too.

You know how urban jobs can be... The owner of the tree had the location of his gate on the other side of his home. So, hauling out debris was much further that wayx and a narrow passage to get brush through...The tree owner's side had a lot of "junk" on the ground... So, you'll notice that we ended up lowering a lot of stuff on the tree owner's home (towards the end of the video) in order to serve his side of the tree. Then, we cut-n-chucked debris towards the chipper.

The chipper would be about 20 yards behind the camera man's back (if we are looking at me, during the first couple of logs being lowered down).

On the more detailed side for the rigging...

If I have a preference of placing blocks in a tree with a whoopie versus a removable system... I'll take the removable system. So, I used KMIII for that.

Since the trunk of the Cottonwood was touching the fence, it was aweful difficult to put on the GRCS. You'll notice a groundie further away (at 37 seconds). The GRCS is anchored to a Norway Maple.
