These were just some random cedars that give an idea of some of the forest near this job.

Wicked, that's the kind of work I'd do for free but life don't work that way. Hard enough to see a Griz let alone get video. Let me guess Toba Inlet?

Great stuff!

Sounds like that first top took 4 whole seconds to hit the ground.

Keep them coming please. This is like the BBC "Planet Earth' series for tree workers!

Cool Gord, thanks!

Looks like part of that video was hazard abatement for the highway. Was it so?

What about the last shot near the stream? What's going on there?

Sweet grizzly shot. Where were you in relation to the bear. Looked sorta close.

Beautiful! No where to run on those steep hills?

Re: Leaning 200\' Old Growth, Grizzlies, Smashing Logs

The first few clips are in an area that rockfall had pushed over some trees onto the lines, so a few tall trees were topped to mitigate that hazard. There's a little more to it than just that, but it involves several parties trying to resolve some things.

The last few trees are at the site of another small run-of-river hydro project that we are clearing the land for.

It is some interesting and challenging work, but it's no holiday. Packing gear up slopes that are steep enough to tumble down in the pouring rain makes some light spurless work next to a coffee shop sound very attractive.
