LAST MINUTE HELP!!!!

Tomorrow I am helping a friend with small tree and shrub removal. This will require us to rappel over the side of a cliff and work off of srt lines. I plan to use the rig and a rads set up. I have some hose with cobra over that to run the rope through where it goes over the edge. I am VERY concerned about debris falling from rope contact. Another concern is tie in point. Obviously we will use as many as possible for redundancy. I'm thinking the main line on the strongest anchor then backed up with other ropes to other anchor points attached to main line with prussics. That should kind of equalize things I suppose. So many unknown factors. I do know its 100 feet to the bottom. I captured some Google earth footage of the site and will post it within the hour. ANY advice on this type of work will be greatly appreciated. I should have asked weeks ago.

I would say to use two seperate lines (main and belay) for each climber and different anchor points. Then use different devices on each line and always be ready to escape up or down if needed (like the rads you mentioned). Use rope pads or some other protectors where the cross rough edges. Then, have fun and take pics! One last thing, if you set the lines a bit apart you may be able to move laterally with ease if you need to.

I'd run two independent ropes/ anchors.

Pad the edge of the cliff with a rag, in addition to the webbing.

You can slice garden hose lenghtwise for an easy slip on rope protector. Attach a piece of cord to the corner and prussic onto rope to keep from losing it.

You could set your main anchor with an emergency lowering point.

Tie stopper knots below your friction device.

A slip knot works well. Be sure to tie it so that a tug on the down rope will invert/untie the slip knot.

Stop and think often. Run a visual/audible/tactile check on your whole climbing system often.

Yes sir, I'll tie stoppers on both systems before cutting I suppose.

How about using the Rigg on one line

and

Prussic/hitch climber with rope wrench above for second line

Both can go up and down and I think I could work both with one hand with a little luck...IF I needed to.

This gives two tie ins for cutting

man Im excited

That's awesome. Can't wait to see the video.
