Lanyards

Enjoyed it a lot. I had never heard of that eye splice that wasn't life support before.
Not to dwell on this, and as you noted this is directed towards gardeners that free climb anyway but I find the thought of a non rated splice rather worrisome. I know the ANSI standards require a stopper or rated splice.
Again, thanks for the information.

Non-rated as in below the 5000lb minimum from ANSI? The Reeving splice has a rating of course, it depends on how much bury there is, the amount of stitching and of course how slack can interfere with it. I make Rope Wrench Tethers with Reeving splices, they are surprisingly strong and quite beautiful, they break in the eye, not the splice.
I try to lay down baselines in these kind of instructional videos, being black and white serves a purpose but it is not my personal approach.

Thank you Stuart, I guess you would see it more on boats, it is great for hoisting, i.e. an srt line that doesn't need a termination point but is made smoother with something to connect the throw bag to.

You can splice it two ways. The first buries the cover between the core and cover (my Rope Wrench splice) the second removes core and buries cover into hollow cover. When I first did them I stitched the Japanese kanji for DEATH into them !!

OK then, no worries, again thanks.
