lanyards

I have a 20 ft. lanyard with a a.r.t. positioner. I daisychain the extra rope so it doesnt hang past my feet, but its always getting caught on something and pulled out. Its really annoying. Is there another way i can do it? Pics would help. Thanks

If the daisy chain is coming undone it's either tied in the wrong direction or not locked off properly. Here, try this... (see attachment)

Start the daisy at the very back end of the lanyard, working your way toward the positioner. When you've stowed the desired amount, simply clip the last tuck into a karabiner. When you need to pay out more length, unclip the daisy and it'll just feed out whatever you ask of it.

i have your same set up but i use a 30ft lanyard. i daisy chain 15 ft of it and keep it in a dittybag.

the bag is a little bulky but is pretty nice. i keep the excess rope in there, an extra pulley, and a redirect set up. Also i recently found a 5 hour energy in there from 3 months ago....

Clipping to a biner is a good idea.

On mine I put a half hitch over the last bite [the one that Taylor clips] to lock it off. With stiffer rope the bite needs to be long and the HH needs to be SET hard!

i've got my tail running through a figure of eight, so that i have two small loops hanging off the back of my saddle. it works really well

I love this forum

I mean...Where else could a guy like me learn valuable knowledge like this...do they make a tree climbing for dummy's book? Ahh! who needs it!

that is a good idea, i wonder if a munter would work just as well to eliminate a lil weight.

the munter provides too much friction, i've always climbed with an 8 on my belt, but now its being used instead of being dead weight.

I use a small ring tied to a key chain biner works the same but smaller-think I seen beddes do something similiar its where i got it.
