What is yours and what do you like best about it. Put some pictures up if you have some. I am looking for a new lanyard set up and all of your comments will help.

Thanks

I have a Grillon, and it is OK. Banjo has the mos-def lanyard I have seen , and I am considering selling my Grillon setup to fund the purchase of his style lanyard. It's sort of a second climbing setup; you have to see it.

I've been using some kmlll and a positioner as of late and am a big fan. Smooth, easy, one handed operation and can be released under load (or course if you use hitch cord and a pulley it can also do all of these things for under 50 bucks but I've never been a big fan of hip side hitches)

Nope....new at all these lanyard terms....have any pictures?

I also use the grillon with 15' of lanyard. I don't have any complaints with it. Ive been using it for about 3 years. I would highly reccomend it

Treeclimber, I don't have much time this AM, I will check in later. Matt, the protective tubing on the grillon cord is a little bit of a pain, and the doubles-as-a-mini-climbing-system setup in inferior to what Banjo has. (Which FT is describing I think... Biner, pulley and hitch cord with lots of extra line. Much cheaper than the Grillon, and a little more versatile IMO. Don't get me wrong, I do like it, but when I need a second TIP quickly, I like the other system better.

Yea i am looking more along the lines of a homemade one with prusik chord and such.

Yea cool if you can give me some ideas and expand my first thoughts of the lanyard i am thinking of making that would be great

I wish Banjo would post... It's a hitch cord (HRC or beeline) with a micropulley, set on your preferred side with a biner, with as much line as you can comfortably store while climbing... 15-30' I am guessing. Store it with a daisy chain, or maybe even in a small throwline bag? Just move it over to your bridge or center D ring as a second climbing line. Like I said, I am hot on the idea, but not using it yet. I think the standing end would be tied off back to the biner for safety and storage.

this is all you need bud then you can just make your landyards out of 1/2 inch rope wit a double fishermans at each end and bieners only locks one way but if your a good climber thats all you need then your landyards easily replacable and THEN get some hydrolic hose cover(the material not the plastic) that will fit over your 1/2 inch landyard rope and that will protect it from knicks and wear on the rope

yea this is exactly what i was thinking of doing....I am going to set it up this weekend and take a pic of it because I have a poison ivy line that was cut in half when my dad was using it from a falling pole saw and have kept the larger half as a short climbing line and the other half as pieces for split tails and now a lanyard

Normally I run an 8ft Hi Vee with a snap on one end and a VT with pulley as the adjuster. This has worked very well for me and it's what I've used for 3 or 4 years now. But recently I've been toying around with longer fliplines. I spliced an 18' from some Patriot line and used the ISC swivel biner as my snap on one end. It was way too long for my taste and I didn't really like the biner as I have a bit of a hard time opening it one handed.

Today I just finished splicing a 12' flipline from some BlueMoon with a regular snap on one end. I went to 24 strand because of the big bury I get, which gives the first 10 inches or so a really firm, stiff handle up near the snap. I'll be using a VT and pulley for the adjuster. Can't wait to try it out!!

Very cool thanks

Tachayon with a splice and a alum. snap, and the other end has a prisik cord tied with a VT/knut (VT with a half hitch) for one handed adjusting. The knot is attached to the saddle with biner. I also have a maxium tech cord prisik loop for attaching the snap to. Simple and effective.

With a longer lanyard, I find a bag indispencible. I use 30ft of 10mm Lyros.
