i went through that impossible to cancel deal with Balley Total Fitness. I hate that place. I then had a membership at an LA Fitness. You can cancel with no problem if you move and there is not an LA fitness facility within 30 miles of your new place (or something like that) Thats what i used to cancel. Had to show proof of new address and that was it. As a side note, the prorated me a refund on months i had payed in advance. They credited $76 to my credit card, which upon seeing on my statement I just assumed they were charging me $76 instead of giving it back. I assumed because thats what happened with Balleys. So I called and went through all the phone prompts and when i finally got to talk to somebody they just told me it was a credit to my account, not a charge. I did a double take, thanked him for his time, and decided i would only get a big time gym membership if whoever i worked for payed for it.
