Coming home from a day of mass pruning in my bucket at a Golf Course and I get this call. Besides the fact that preventive actions long before could've helped this tree , it's almost dark , and I don't need this headache. I only had so much gear with me , since I have different trucks and I was only out pruning . One ratched strap , I secure my plywood with , a twenty foot section of dblbraid 5/8 , and some 1/2 inch true blue. I did what I could do , wish I had more gear , but I was in the city. The tree was cracking while I was there , could watch the split opening up as I was talking with the contractor and lady. The house side was cracked to the ground.
Crane was set up for the first thing in the morning . Than the lady asks the magic question ? Is it safe now ? now . I'm not going anywhere , I cut about a ton of brush off the lean side , but how much can you do with the full moon coming up and the sun going down . I felt like saying , " Lady , that tree's never been safe " Now, because my gear is in the tree I'm it's owner for the night. I took some real good shots of the split but don't have the film back. here is some camera shots .
