Kretzch Beech

Storm damaged Beech most likely failed due to being severely weakened by the presence of Kretzschmaria deusta at about 30ft. Included pic of Kretzch (next to secateurs) for those who havent seen it before (the black stuff like charcoal). The top landed down a steep embankment which made dismantling a lot of fun

I was anticipating the spar to explode a little when it hit the ground. Hmmm... It was more solid than I thought. Did you think it was going to explode a little Grover?

I seen one just completely rotten and the only thing holding it up with the beautiful (elephant skin) bark. Weird how hard they are and when the die the get so brittle and punky. Good job on rolling the log. Cheers!!
