Kong twin ascender

The one from Sherrill costs more so it must be better.

Seriously, Sherrill will price match-IF you are ordering other items that only Sherrill provides than ask for a price match if not just oreder from WesSpur-they are great to deal with.

This is exactly what I went through several months ago. Sherrill matched the price from WesSpur and 10% off of the difference. Total was $113!!!

Given the chance again I would have opted to go with WesSpur..........simply because I don't like Sherrill's we are the only game in town pricing!!!

Sorry you feel this way Rich. I hope l didn't personally offend you in some way to bring this about.

In researching the product I see that it runs a similar margin (at our $160) as other Kong items delivered by both us and Wespur (i.e. Auto-block & Paddle carabiners for example). It's not unusual for competitors to occasionally low-ball certain items to give off 'an impression," it's up to shoppers to shape opinions.

We certainly don't conduct ourselves or believe we're the only game in town, quite the contrary. Although we do have a dealership network to serve and quite a bit of contributory activity to support (your industry and ISA chapter included) we try to present very fair and reasonable pricing.

This one item is an unusual example of... what we both occasionally must face. Wouldn't you agree? We do try to rectify it, and if after the sale such a discovery is made, we work with that too.

As always, the best to you.

Sincerely,

t

I agree with you, i found a couple items cheaper on wesspur and then went to sherrill for the extra 10% off, it was just to much of a hassle and was to hard to deal with. I eventually just canceled the order and got it from WesSpur. They were really great to deal with and i will gladly give them the extra couple dollars for the convinence and original low price!

I guess we have different experiences. I got a Velocity rope from Sherrill Tree and AFTER climbing on it I discovered a couple of picks in it that I knew I didn't put there.

I related all that to Sherrill Tree and they sent me a UPS return label and a new replacement rope. I even asked if they could change it from Velocity Cool that I originally ordered to Velocity Hot and they did even did that.

I don't see how it could get much better - one phone call, paid return shipping, a new rope, and no hassle.

With all that Sherrill Tree provides in sponsership, support and inovation, to our industry, when given the choice I choose to spend my dollars with them. When I have found any item at a lower listed price, my local dealership, Vermeer Southeast, has made it right.

But, when was the last time anyone bid a job for 8 hours and finished the work in six, went to the client and gave the difference back? When noted Sherrill Tree will. Its business, all you can do is go with the company you feel most comfortable with. I chooose to deal with Sherrill Tree because they support our industry in so many ways.

We all need to make a living.

honestly, i order from sherrill every weekend, im dead serious, every sunday i sit at my computer, coffee in hand and place at least a 60 dollar order every sunday, this has gone on for about 4 months now. biners, chains, pulleys, cordage, ropebags, zingit lines weights, you name it ive bought it and i always have it within 2-3 business days, i love it, if i ask for an extra catalog they send it, free of charge, i deal with sherrill because to me they are the only gig in town, i do occasionally order from baileys but honestly thats for something completely different. also, what other mail order head comes on treebuzz to justify their priceing?

We've got a mobile Sherrill/Vermeer dealer, Jerry Rouse, who will, more times than not, show up at our jobsite when we need something (anything, actually) in a pinch. Sometimes he'll come from several towns away. Also, he comes to our yard every other Thursday. He has half their catalogue right on the truck. He special orders stuff that Sherrill doesn't list, as well. Does research for us, looks into new products, explains and demonstrates gear, sponsors many local events, then feeds us during them!

And yeah, I occasionally find an item at lower price over at Kuemmerling or other, but usually not, and sometimes it's the other way around. Try asking a Kuemmerling rep about Cobra, or belaying devices! Saves me alot of time, and takes some of the guesswork out of purchasing, since we can check out stuff live, and even demo it. He replaced 2 consecutive poison ivy 150 ft. ropes with bad splices, no questions asked.

So, we don't even price shop much at all. I would't want to be less loyal to him than he's been to us.

Jerry, this one's for you!
