Kolibri Saddle

I would guess that they give no names or numbers because there are climbers from different countries, who are subject to different standards. My understanding of the rules at ITCC is that climbers are able to use whatever gear that the standards recognized in the home country allow. So a climber from a country where 22kN is the baseline strength for biners can use a 22kN biner. I on the other hand, being American, am subject to the ANSI standards which state that 22.5kN is the baseline. I can't use that 22kN biner.

Back to the discussion of another super comfy saddle... The Kolibri Hummingbird.

i think you have it there, thats correct. the rules are for the comps (world wide) not for work.

the kolibri has been my choice for the last 4 years

not sure what the letter of the law is, but of the 3 harnesses i've climbed in at ITCC only one of them has ansi approval, pretty sure: edelrid tree magic, buckingham glide, and treemotion. someone please tell me i don't have to compete in my glide this year!?
k.

I think it's bull that you can but a tree work harness here in the US, but are not allowed to use it in a comp. It is as if our industry is telling retailers, "hey- Wesspur, Bishop, Sherrill, Baileys and everyone else- we don't want you selling the Treemotion, Treeflex, Sequioa, Butterfly. You can only sell saddles made by Buckingham or Weaver."

hmmmm...
