knot is mf stuck

Welcome. I hope I explained it clear enough. Some of those things are like, "why didnt I think of that?" when you see them. Spending time around very sharp old timers is time well spent.

We winch stuff on a regular basis with a bucket truck winch or pull lines with a mini ex. Usually back leaners or other stuff you want a hard pull on. Really makes you want to be able to untie them easily after being loaded. We have found a bow line on a bite unties much easier after a very heavy load vs a regular bow line. I think they are stronger too. The bend radius is much better with 4 parts of line running through the loop vs the normal 2.

Just a midline girth hitch on the carabiner is what I have used for years to pull everything. If I am near a bitter end sometimes I will add a half-hitch, but I have never seen the rope slip without. We girth onto trailer hitches behind the ball or pintle to pull with trucks and the girth bites super hard, but comes undone with zero fuss. Many friction hitches are just variations of a girth. The added bends do not add friction, they distribute it. The regular girth is a very static hitch.

I had a
I like the triple bowline for winching. I've never had one slip or unable to be untied. I like to clip into all three loops.

I use the triple as a midline loop for heavy pulls all the time. I had to tie what I'm calling a sextuple bowline the other day though. Ended up with 6 loops instead of the three the triple has haha. We had a large broken, hanging lead. Still lots of fiber holding and dangling straight down in a public recreation area. No truck or climbing gear but we had rope and a tractor with a winch. We snapped a 1/2" 3 strand rope using it in a single line with a 2:1 MA pull with the tractor winch. I switched to 1/2" double braid, but rather than just using it as a single line, I doubled it up. Found the midpoint of the double braid, passed that over the the tips of the broken lead, tied a running bowline (a running triple bowline here now) with that and sent it back up. Then I tied the midline loop for the block to get the 2:1 for the tractor winch. Now I have 2 lines coming down from the lead and tied it like I would the triple bowline, but with two legs of line resulting in the sextuple bowline. It was awesome. Ripped that sucker right down.

When pulling a tree, I like to put several wraps around it, then either clip or tie the end onto the standing part. All the tension is absorbed by the friction in the wraps, so the knot sees little to no load. Like a basal anchor with extra wraps.
