Knot and Rope Supply

So I started a thread on splicing a few days back and got a post from John about a place near me in Perrysburg, Ohio called Knot and Rope Supply. He said they have all kinds of materials for splicing, as well as a ton of rope products.

Well I went by this morning and boy was I impressed. First of all, when you walk in the door, all you see is rope all over the walls, stacked in racks, spools everywhere. So immediately I was in heaven. Secondly, Joh nhas got to be one of the nicest guys Ive met. Started showing me stuff in the shop, talkin about diff ropes, talked about climbing with some of the guys. Sincs I was interested in splicing, he went and found a scrap length of 5/8 bull rope, walked over to his splicing station and started into an eye splice right there! Great guy.

Anyways, just wanted to say thanks to John for making me feel welcome and just chattin with me. I am sold on gettin any rope stuff from him. Easy for me, its only a 15 minute drive. But he is on the web @ http://www.knotandrope.com/index.htm. Definitely chekc it out if you are looking for a product, spliced or not, and want to feel like a friend instead of just another buyer. Props John!

Hi, and thanks for the kind words.

Just a note to everyone out there, our website is in the middle of a complete redesign as we speak.

Currently there are a few of our arborist ropes on the website, but for those of you who are new to us, we do carry everything from every major rope supplier (Yale, New England, Samson, etc. etc.) so I apologize in advance for the rather lame website. Just because you don't see it on the website does not mean it isn't in stock, don't hesitate to call. Check it out in a few weeks and I think you will see a whole new world!

I received a call from John's wife a couple weeks ago asking if they could be a sponsor for the Charlotte TCC next year! I can't wait to meet these people, and see the new and improved web site!

Just wanted to give John, and Knot and Rope another prop. I called him at noon today asking if I could come in and get 150' Bluestreak and splice it there with his stuff. I went in at 3 and he walked me through the whole splice right down to the whipping. Looks great and I actually got to complete a good splice, seeing as how my three double braid splices got the thumbs down from John (lol).

So thanks for taking the time with me on short notice, and thanks again for helping out a friend. Kudos to you John, it's greatly appreciated!!!

Hey, don't sweat it, those double braid splices weren't THAT bad.........

No problem stopping by, everyone is welcome to stop by the shop.

Thanks!

Hi John,
Just checked out your site, https://www.knotandrope.com
Please let us know when it’s complete.
I need to do some shopping!

Hey, last winter you and Shawn did some rec. climbing in Perrysburg.
I was tempted to join ya, but my old bones prefer to climb when it’s above freezing.
I visited Woodland Park quite a few years ago while living in Fremont.
I now live northwest of Detroit.

I also dabble with splicing but could use a bit more practice.

Keep on Buzzin!

Hey Kramer, you'll have to join us for a climb shortly. I plan on climbing every weekend minimum after work dies down a bit in two weeks. Plenty o' good trees around here, and myself, John and Matt are always keepin our eyes open for more. Anyways, all are welcome to join us. Now to end my thread hijack.
