So I started a thread on splicing a few days back and got a post from John about a place near me in Perrysburg, Ohio called Knot and Rope Supply. He said they have all kinds of materials for splicing, as well as a ton of rope products.
Well I went by this morning and boy was I impressed. First of all, when you walk in the door, all you see is rope all over the walls, stacked in racks, spools everywhere. So immediately I was in heaven. Secondly, Joh nhas got to be one of the nicest guys Ive met. Started showing me stuff in the shop, talkin about diff ropes, talked about climbing with some of the guys. Sincs I was interested in splicing, he went and found a scrap length of 5/8 bull rope, walked over to his splicing station and started into an eye splice right there! Great guy.
Anyways, just wanted to say thanks to John for making me feel welcome and just chattin with me. I am sold on gettin any rope stuff from him. Easy for me, its only a 15 minute drive. But he is on the web @ http://www.knotandrope.com/index.htm. Definitely chekc it out if you are looking for a product, spliced or not, and want to feel like a friend instead of just another buyer. Props John!
