Kask or New Petzl? Alveo .. Vertex Vest?

Time is up on my current helmet (5 years). What should I go with next, Kask, Alveo, or Vertex Vent?

Vizir or visor .. too many choices, haha.

I do like the vent because of the helmet suspension, but the Kask just looks sweet.

I say Kask but wait till the second version of it comes out. Others might be able to give you a better idea on this.

I am one of the lucky few who go to test the new prototype Kask. The changes they have made to the design, have made this virtually a new helmet. New design is out next week i'm told by Kask USA. My vote would definitely be the Italians!

My opinion goes to what you're doing. I was rocking the kask and love it but it's not class E rated for line clearance. The kask is comfortable but I wish the visors stuck out a little bit more. Maybe I just have an odd shaped head.

Here is a link to the new Kask Super Plasma Arborist Helmet....... http://www.kaskhelmets.com/Products/Arborist/KASK-SUPER-PLASMA

I have been using the new Kask going on four months now and have no complaints. It is a very nice helmet.

Got the Kask and it is very comfortable. The headgear, chin strap and linning are great as well as the helmet is light. I have only used it in cold weather so far and don't know if it is hot in the summer. I use protective eyewear and ear plugs so I can't comment on the peltor earmuffs or their visor. As a comparison I found the ecrin and vent cheap feeling and uncomfortable especially where the hard liner presses on the forehead. I guess it is all about the shape of your melon. Best luck with whatever you get

Our crew picked-up new KASK Super Plasma from Wesspur. I finally made the decision and we chose Kask.
Feels nice. I will be trying the (clear) flip down visor too. I climb all day and my eye glasses keep falling off...:) No earmuffs, I like to wear the earplugs around my neck. Kinda like to travel lite.

just got my new alveo vent and climbed with it for the first time yesterday. i absolutely loved it. i previously had a vertex which i liked but it never seemed to fit quite right. the new adjustment system on the alveo is awesome and i am finally able to put my ear muffs backwards on my helmet without my helmet falling off my head.....no more looking like a bug with my muffs forward. anyways i havent climbed in a kask im sure they are just as nice but i love my alveo and they are very reasonably priced.

My new Alveo vent is great, I usualy climb with the petzl meteor or the black diamond half dome.

Nice thing about the Alveo is thats it's really comfi and my new communication set from petzl fits in it. Both the meteor and half dome haven't got space for earmuffs.

Just never tried a Kask....

Been using the high visibility Kask for about 5 months now. Super comfy, and you can see me coming from a mile away...gotta remember to take it off when taking a leak in the woods though. I used to wear a petzl best and the drawbacks of the Kask are the sizing for the head doesn't go as big as the petzl, which usually isn't a problem until the winter time if you like to throw a hood over your head for warmth. The other problem was tan lines when the sun comes out. As vain as that sounds I never had that problem with the petzl, tried adjusting the straps but I'm getting goofing looking racing stripes behind my ears. My wife likes to make fun of me. I'm probably gonna switch to a petzl vent when I get the green.
