KASK America

I cannot say enough about Kask. They have a quality comfortable product. It's Sunday and I contacted them about a problem with my helmet and I got a quick response and the issue is being rectified. This kind of customer service is greatly appreciated and will deal more with them in the future and would definately recommend their product to anyone looking for a lightweight quality helmet.

Can't say much for their customer service, because I haven't had to deal with them yet. Probably because the awesome helmets they design and build rarely have problems. Mine has been nothing but great. Two thumbs up for KASK!!

Good helmet. Good service.

with that being said though....

Don't sweat in the styrofoam stuff in the top real heavy, or
especially don't soak it with water in a hot humid climate, or it will grow a terrible stink in the helmet.

The visor is a bit of a pain, the inner surface gets really sticky and collect saw dust and you can't simply wipe it off with a dry shirt, because it is sticky. Wash with a garden hose and rub it while washing it works though. Only lasts about a day before too much saw dust sticking again.

The ear protection metal adapters aren't the best. Many have complained they fall out. Mine never did until I knocked one ear muff off one time, now that one falls out all the time when I move the muff off my ear to talk.

The aluminum bolt that holds on the visor backs out after a while. If you use the telflon washer correctly, it takes a long time to back out, but will and you'll loose the parts. So, on one of my guys helmets, when new, I put thread lock on the bolt threads and his has never backed out and the visor still moves the same.

We do like our helmets though. Light and look good and nice eye protection when it's clean.

I just bought a Kask. I like the fit alot.

And like David has pointed out, I can see future problems with the muff adapters. The pre-drilled holes, for the metal mounts, are 1mm-2mm drilled too close to the edging of the helmet. This creates an unperfect fit and caused one of my tiny screws to strip. (Thankfully, an extra screw came with it).

However, I am looking forward to looking like Speed Racer!

The inside of the visor is annoying to clean. Windex wipes are the best way I've found so far for cleaning it on site. Soap and water at home.

Lately, I just don't even use it unless chips are flying right in my face since I have specs on anyway.

If I was to complain about my kask at all it would be the same things y'all have mentioned. Visor is always incredibly dirty, muffs fall off too often but also the material they make the sweat band out of is awful. It absorbs just fine but it is far from fast drying and the stench is awful at times.

I've since resorted to wearing the halo head band which does the trick. I've purchased the winter cap as well and I'm interested to see how well it works

This is what I mean abou the holes being too close to the edging...

new mounts are coming by end of the month, see my previous post to get a feel for what they look like and how they mount.

Jim can you post what you are mentioning? Thanks.

Today, I decided I'll use the Kask in cooler weather, since it retains heat. I'll also use it when I don't need muffs.

As for the stank. Prior to the Kask, I've been wearing a thick skull cap for a couple of years now to absorb sweat. Temps were in the high 80's and the skull cap prevented sweat getting into the foam padding.

Maybe you guys need to try the skull cap idea...

I dont need a replacement and I'm not at all upset but I would like to mention that the threaded inserts that hold the visor on fell out the 1st week. The film on the visor also began peeling making an already dirty looking plastic much worse. Im a geussing that the film peel is due to our extreme heat.
