I just inherited a Jonsered 920 that ran a year ago. When I try to start it I cannot get it to fire up. New spark plug and it sparks. Fuel is making it into the cylinder but not flooding, air filter is clean and loys of compression pull back when pulling the starter cord. I am out of ideas what to check now. Anybody have suggestions?

Take a soda bottle with mix fuel, drill a small hole in the cap. Squirt a little fuel into the cylinder replace the plug and see if it fires. If it doesn't it's some sort of a spark issue (maybe not hot enough). If it fires but doesn't run it might mean carb isn't working properly or you have scoring. Scoring can be checked by pulling the muffler and looking in as you turn the motor over.

I poured in some gas below the air filter. Use to do that for another Jonsered I have and it finally took about 40 pulls and then i started to get a batk. Got er running now and man does she snort. Thank you.

When saws sit it can be really hard to get fuel flowing through again. Plus the fuel that sits in the carb is old. Getting the engine to run for a few seconds off of a shot down the carb is usually enough to prime the carb again.
