Some of you may know of Jed from the Guilty of Treeson videos on YouTube. He’s affectionately referred to as “Inbred Jed”

I found out this morning that he was killed felling a big leaf maple and a limb broke out. This is all the info I can gather at this point.

One of his coworkers and friends alerted us on The Treehouse forum this morning.

I’ve copied a link to his GoFundMe page. He left behind a wife and I believe two daughters.

That is a tragedy- he was the most joyful treeman I've ever met, just a delight to be around.

Jed was my first foreman many years ago. He was an incredibly sweet, thoughtful and intelligent man, such a gushingly loving husband and father, and an absolutely amazing climber and faller.

Almost every day we'd have these wonderful meandering philosophical conversations driving to jobs. Even though he was deeply religious and I am an equally enthusiastic nonbeliever, I always felt welcomed by him.

I've been back east for almost a decade, but I still hear his voice when I face up a tight shot and imagine his excitement and smile when nailing the lay. I'm so sad to read of his death and am so grateful to have had the chance to spend time with him.

Rough to hear, I hope his family has a lot of support to get through such a difficult time. I never interacted with him myself, but saw him in videos and forums. He always seemed like a tremendously humble, thoughtful and kind person. In reading other peoples memories, it's good to hear that was truly the case and I'm sure he will be deeply missed.

This was a touching read..sounds like a man I would have liked. My condolences.
